Emergency record

Upon enrolment, the school prepares an emergency record from information gathered from the enrolment form (PDF, 336KB) that is completed by parents. It is the responsibility of the parents to advise the school should there be any change in these particulars, e.g. changes of address, place or employment, emergency contacts, telephone numbers etc. This information is of the utmost importance in the case of accident or sickness. Please advise the school by phone or written note should any such change occur.

Same day student absence notification

This is a new regulation implemented by Education Queensland.

The safety and wellbeing of students are the highest priorities for the department. Parents need to know if their child hasn't turned up for school, and schools need to know when and why a child is absent. From the beginning of term 3, 2016, state schools will be required to, without delay, notify the carer of a student in out-of-home care who is identified as missing from school.

From the beginning of 2017, state schools will be required to notify parents on the same day that any student is absent from school without explanation.

Some things to think about...

Contact details

There are times when we may need to contact parents and carers. Do we have your most up to date contact details? If not, please contact the school so we can update our records. These details include parent/carers’ name, address, phone numbers, email address and emergency contact details.

Please remember to contact the school if any of these details change.

Absence notification process

Please remember to call the school early in the morning if your child is going to be away or late for school so your child’s absence can be recorded correctly.

Same day notification

Our school will contact parents as soon as practicable on the day if a student is not at school and we don’t know why. If you are advised by the school that your child is away without a reason, please contact us as soon as possible to let us know where your child is.

We will follow-up with parents if no response is received.
